Why testing and iteration matter in Amateur Sports Technology
Building technology for amateur sports requires real-world testing. Unlike professional events, amateur tournaments operate with limited resources, tight schedules, and unpredictable conditions. This makes testing and iteration essential to ensure tools actually support organizers, players, and clubs.
Since spring 2025, we have tested the MyScore.Live smart scoreboard hardware in multiple live tournaments around Berlin. These included ITF J30 Wulkenzin, ITF J30 BTTC, TVBB Meisterschaften Seniors – BSV, TVBB Meisterschaften – Vespen, SCC Open, ITF Beachtennis Ahlbeck, and SCC Verbandspiel Damen. Each event offered different formats and organizational realities, providing insights that can only come from real competition environments.

Hardware testing quickly highlighted practical needs. Visibility in varying light conditions, quick setup, reliable connectivity, and durability over long tournament days all proved critical. In busy tournament settings, hardware must work seamlessly without adding complexity for organizers.
At the same time, we continuously iterated on the software based on direct feedback from tournament managers. Their input helped refine features related to match visibility, court management, and real-time updates — areas where clarity is essential during high-pressure moments.
Players also influenced many improvements. They want clear information about match timing, court assignments, and live scores. Testing showed that better visibility reduces uncertainty and minimizes the need for constant questions at the organizer’s desk.
Feedback from followers and spectators reinforced the importance of accessibility. Friends, family members, and club communities want to follow matches live, especially during multi-court events. Making this information easy to access improves engagement beyond the court.

Ultimately, testing and iteration ensure that technology adapts to real tournament behavior rather than assumptions. By validating ideas in live events and listening closely to organizers, players, and followers, MyScore.Live continues to evolve in a way that supports amateur tournaments instead of complicating them.
Make Tournament Organization Simpler
Organizing amateur tournaments doesn’t have to be stressful. MyScore.Live’s smart scoreboard helps clubs and organizers manage matches, courts, and live scores in real time — so players stay informed and events run smoothly.
